Preparing the work surface

Attention! Before carrying out work with POLIMAX. When covering porcelain stoneware or similar tiles, fill the gaps between the tiles. Cracks larger than 1 mm must be filled with filler. Also, as a primer, the epoxy two-component transparent primer QIS EPO ASTAR SF.

The surface must be free from adhesion-preventing substances such as dust, oil, paint, silicone. Weak parts of the concrete must be repaired with QIS REPFIX 500S, existing static cracks must be repaired QIS QLATEX . Dynamic (moving) cracks must be filled QIS POMA 35 polyurethane sealant, vertical corners must be properly capped. Holes from which water inflows must be repaired with QIS PLUG.

Application QIS POLIMES HB - one-component, liquid, ready-to-use, UV-resistant, solvent-free, high-tech waterproofing coating material. Produced using hybrid polymer technology. Areas of application • For indoor and outdoor use • As a coating material on balconies and terraced roofs where there is pedestrian traffic • For repairing cracks up to 2 mm on almost all surfaces, including mineral surfaces such as concrete, stone, marble, ceramics, tiles, all types of wood, glass, metal, tiles, bricks, concrete, aerated concrete • In wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens • In drinking water tanks • For waterproofing horizontal surfaces or repairing sections with self-leveling function against ground moisture in areas below ground level such as foundations, garages, basements • Used on balconies, terraces or sloping roofs that require waterproofing, chimneys, ventilation. Characteristics • Medium elasticity, suitable for light pedestrian traffic. • Maintains elasticity and adhesive properties in joints of cracks that form and grow with building movement. • Adheres perfectly even to damp surfaces without primer and provides high adhesion. • Does not contain solvents and isocyanates that are harmful to the environment and human health. • Can be used both indoors and outdoors, on horizontal and vertical surfaces. • Resistant to UV rays, does not crack, does not yellow and does not leak. • Easy and quick to apply with a brush or roller. • Does not create a joint. • 100% elastomeric and does not lose volume, as it does not contain solvents. • After drying, it retains elasticity even at low temperatures, can be painted. Application Method Surface Preparation • The surface to be applied must be cleaned of anti-adhesion materials such as dust, oil, resin, tar, paint, silicone, hardener, detergent and mold oils. • Weak parts of the concrete must be repaired with QIS REPFIX 500S, static cracks must be repaired with QIS QLATEX plaster mixture. • Dynamic (moving) cracks must be filled with QIS POMA 35 polyurethane sealant. • Water inlet holes must be sealed with QIS PLUG. Under normal conditions, the use of a primer is not necessary. QIS POLIMES HB is ready for use. No external substances must be added. Before use, it is mixed with a suitable mixer for at least 2 minutes. QIS POLIMES HB is applied directly to the surface with a brush or roller. QIS POLIMES HB is applied to the surface in at least two layers, perpendicular to each other. An interval of 6-12 hours is required between coats. If a smooth finish is desired at the edges of the application area, the specified area can be limited by protective tape. The protective tape must be removed no later than 5 minutes after application. The application area is opened for use within 24-48 hours. Final drying occurs after 7 days. Conditions of use • In cases where the ground temperature is below +5°C and above +30°C, the material should not be used. • The material must be protected from rain, frost and direct sunlight for the first 24 hours after application. (+20°C) • The surface to be applied must not be wet. QIS POLIMES HB is resistant to up to 10% moisture on the surface. Moisture-resistant polyurethane or epoxy primers can be used on surfaces with high humidity before application. Consumption 1.50 kg/m2.
